Another getaway

Getaway has always been good, more so with the bunch of the usual good friends.
This round - Singapore as destination. 1 day , I night - and by far quite pricey.
Great Singapore Sales? Nah, not really for us looking at how weak our currency againts Sing Dollars.

All said, its a beautiful country and I will definitely want to visit again :)

Dreams

Lately, I can recall most of my dreams when I wake up. And these dreams showed me what my heart desire, minus all my intellectual thinking...these dreams really showed me how I felt at that moment when it happen. Some sad, that I cried. Some happy dreams, only to wake up knowing it is just a dream. But nevertheless,I am a little clearer on what I want in life, for now.

But I know I am losing what I cant keep in the 1st place.
I will cling on to the only hope I have in You, knowing that You have the best plans for me in life. Just help me to believe despite the circumstances.

Task Overdue - Cleaning

I have been so busy lately, that I had been putting off commencing the execution of an operation codenamed Clean. (Trying to make an ordinary chore to sound fun!)
Main cleaning up to do
1) My room - Messy and dusty, heh!
2) My laptop - Messy ...on the inside... and dusty ..on outside!
3) My electric guitar - Messy...on my playing(for a concert due in Mid-June) and dusty...on the casing and body.
4) My E-drums - Messy...wires all tangled up and dusty on the outside.
5) My Living Hall and Porch - Messy and dusty

Maybe being busy is just an excuse for being lazy :)
Now, this post is so cheesy because being lazy makes me busy till everything's messy and dusty. Corny?

Farewell

I attended 2 farewells recently...
Both friends embarking a new journey from Penang to KL. Both are my uni and CF friends (though different campus) and we made a point to try to meet up with one another once in a while admist our busy own schedule.
I am thankful for this bunch of friends...Now only a handful of them left in Penang :)

They make my memories here in Penang extra richer.

Dynamics

What makes a music good? At least for me, its the dynamics. The feel, the sudden rush of euphoria when you listen to it. The dynamics!

Excellent piece of art here.

Meant to be

Sometimes, I get too hyped up on what people may think about me.
Call it pride,ego,insecurity? I dunno...

In the end,it only boils down to 3 reasons if I really need to change or realign with myself

1) For God - Be renewed daily to live by His standards (Romans 12:2)
2) For my own personal dreams, goals..anything that is wholesome and for the betterment of myself
3) For someone who I care and care about me

And thats it.
The rest are just going to be burdensome, if I were to want to please everybody and to be in their every good books.
I'll be who I am meant to be.

Honesty

I am glad we had this conversation.
In a rare moment of instance, I know it takes a lot of courage and plain honesty on your part and mine to open up and share a little on what's inside.
Rest assured, whatever the outcome is...we are still very much friends.
In fact I'd appreciate you more.

Reminder to self

Life's too short to be making comparisions.
Count your blessings and start sharing to the ones in need.

Jesus never rush

In the midst of busy ongoings, I just had an interesting conversation with someone... which really reminds me that sometimes we should be listening more than we should speak.I was rushing to church meeting straight from work when we met in the lift

Me: How are u?
A: Fine,how are you?
Me: Good, but tired due to work...(I explained that I have to rush to church after work)
A: Don't rush. As Jesus never rush...
Me : (Like ok....) No choice, many work to do with tight deadlines these few days! (smiles)
A: Everybody got choices, you cant say no choice... (wow, really deep~)

From that point on, I decided not to waste whatever few energy I had left to engage in a pointless conversation,so I just smiled politely and walked off...
I guess, even though we may utter the "correct" or spiritual-sounding responses, let's ask ourselves are we really helping to encourage or are we just trying to elevate ourselves here?

Let's be real...

I am just so glad that the weekend is here as Friday's Labour Day!
It is been a tough 2 weeks of incoming streams of projects and tasks with absurd deadlines, I am just so thankful for a day's break...Though probably I will still have to work offline over the weekend :)

And I really do thank God for His strength and wisdom that sustaining me through the many hours of work. Also, I guessed more work means better business from my company, which translates to lower chance of retrenchment :D Right? Hmm..mm...

Works

"True service starts when the meeting ends"

Sometimes we have:
New fancy vision theme, yet no real mission to accomplish them.
New Hit songs, nice riffs, catchy melodies - yet do we really believe in the lyrics?
We have inspiring words every week, but it becomes just mere words if there is no works...

Right? Or wrong...?

:)
Love's in the air

Got invited to do an acoustics set for a wedding for a friend's friend in QE II.We practiced about 14 songs, but in the end managed to do about 6 due to time constraint and changed plans schedule. All said, I thought it was another good experience..plus the open-air wedding concept by the harbor was just brilliant. Nice ambient by the seaside - only thing it was quite warm that night.

Perceptions

Sometimes I find myself doing so much to change someone's mind about me, instead of me trying to change my mind about that person.
Feelings sometimes is like a rainbow...A beautiful illusion that you can never grasp.

How do you lead your heart instead of following it?

Hey, even engineering machines can be emo! What more humans like you and me...

Easter story

I was heading to my room after coming back from a lunch meeting when I heard a fluttering noise in the washing area at back of my house. A sparrow apparently got itself trapped and keeps knocking itself on a clear transparent window;probably thinking that was its obvious route to escape.

My initial plan was to simply open the back door and let it out.Sounds simple right? Unfortunately the lock was rusty and wouldn't budge from being unlocked even after several tries.Seeing me there, the bird was even more frightened and keeps crashing himself literally onto the window.

Next plan,I opened the entrance door and tried to divert the bird to flew past the door and out to the living hall which then leads to the outside. Not much of a success too, as the bird only keeps its focus to escape from the transparent window. To this point, I tried again to unlock the back door and after several attempts, the door was opened and the bird flew out to its freedom. No casualty in this story!Yay :)

Pondering back to this little event,I would like to share a little of what had been spoken to my heart...

Firstly,I could be like that bird where I find myself trapped in a sticky situation or crisis. My instinct (especially in panic mode)is look out for the easiest way out. It makes me ponder if I really do trust in His goodness and wisdom...Or would I just react like the bird which keeps hurting itself in its own escape attempt? And is my spirit man in tune enough to the Shepherd's voice to the point that I can confidently follow His leading out of the mess? Something to ponder about indeed.

And the best lesson I had learned from this is the assurance of His love for me!
Just as I had sincerely wanted to free this bird,I was reminded of how much more we are worth in our Father's eye and his desire to give is freedom in our lives!
And even if we had failed to see His plans, his arms are never too short to save and He will provide another way of escape for us!

This gift called grace is something I will never deserve and yet I can freely received it because of His love. And after all, He had given up His own life for our salvation! Thank you Jesus! :)

Wishing everyone a memorable Easter weekend!

Updates updates!

My 1st post of the year! Can you believe it? Yea,I guess you do...what an abandoned blog this is.
Lets see..here's a very short and sort of random stuff going through my mind right now

Of work,it gets pretty mundane...but hey,no complaints when I still have a job..so far :) God's my provider

Of friends, sometimes I fail to appreciate them as I should. More listening, less talking. They brighten up my days here in Penang! And missing the sincere talks from my homies back in Melaka or KL

Of relationship, none too special so far!Honestly, I'd find myself still dwelling in the past for so long...
Between "Will I get to see you again?" and "I need to forget you!" keeps switching back and forth;it becomes almost a regular struggle daily.

Of spirituality,I had grown so much here in this Church. I owe it to a great pastor, cell leaders,CG members who played an important part in my life here, and many others. Not forgetting the privilege serving in the Dream Team! Awesome experience!

Of my dreams and resolution, this year I am quite satisfied to the fact that I am still working on those. Some has their results beginning to show already. 1st quarter of the year had passed. Another 3 quarters to move on!

Enough ramblings!
I will try to update more often. :)

Uhmm...its been a long while since the last updates.

I bridge 2008 in Melaka aka my proud hometown! This was during the Hari Raya Break.

My group-mates

I am glad I had made it for the camp despite some challeges beforehad at work that may had hindered me from taking leaves.
One important keynote I had learned from the camp is that knowing His will is never easy,I have learned therefore to make every ounce of my life counts.
Making new friends is another good point...and also the chance to meeting up with old ones, and I mean really old ones such as my ex hi-school classmate I didn't see for about 5 years and another childhood friend I haven't met for about 10 years!
So I bridge really do meet up to its name...it bridges me up with people, meeting old friends and making new ones =)

*********************************************************************************

Now camp's over, and reality of everyday's life hits back.
So what's happening in my life you may ask.
Actually nothing much. Haha

Apart from spending most of my time making my company richer,my one passion is still the same- which is to be a better musician.

Photobucket
Still the better avenue to express myself. My wife's a beauty ain't she?Check out her curves =) Referring to my guitar for those who still don't know ...
This is taken during the I bridge camp. Thanks Photographer.

Photobucket
Don't ask me about the weird expression.I am not a photogenic drummer =) But I love playing the drums. I really do.
This was during one of the SNL service. Thanks Daniel for the nice shot.

*******************************************************************************

Of work, I find myself standing in front of a crossroad again.
Still in a dilemma whether to stay put in my current company or to continue my tenure in a different company. As I had mentioned, knowing His will can be a little tricky especially in situations like this, knowing how easy our decision can be compelled by our own humanly judgment.Thank you nevertheless to friends who gave me their thoughts and counsels on this. Whatever it is,deep down I am plain thankful I had a job to begin with =) We will see where this will lead me to next.

My humble cubicle in Dell. Haha.

Another random note.
I just want to say a big congrats to Meng Seong and Michelle who got their marriage registered about 1 month ago. I cannot wait to attend to their wedding ceremony in November. It is gonna be a blast, and a joyous occasion for the other CG members and I. They are after all,the first married couple in our CG Guinness Book of records!! =)

Photobucket

Officially Mr and Mrs Lee! (and Jojo the pet dawg which was brought all the way from Penang to KL just for the photo shoot!)
In all honesty, they are like the "role couple" to me.Everything that I had personally perceive for a good relationship can be found in theirs.I admired the strong foundation they had built in their relationship so much so it is like seeing 2 best friends who just happened to be lovers. That's really Cool to me!
They have to teach me a thing or two when my turn comes =)

Our CG is in the midst of composing a song to present for their wedding. Hope you all will enjoyed it during your big day.

Pictures below are my wonderful colleagues taken from various dinner events.
I just want to say how blessed I am to have a great working relationship with this people. One thing for sure, is that I am going to miss everyone of them if I leave Dell.

I will end my randoms for the post with this->
There is this strange occurrence I experienced after dining in TAO and I know I risk being the butt of the ridiculous joke if I were to share this...
On both occasion in TAO ( 2 different locations here) , I had drank the orange juice (which are made of cordial syrups actually) and as like all other buffet style restaurant,I had refilled quite a number of times since it is bottomless.
The horrifying thing is that over next 1 week, I can ...err ... see "yellowish stuff" when answering nature's call.
And I know a colleauge who had diarrhea also coincidentally drinking the orange juice. Take about side effects!
Believe it? Only on Ripley's!
But seriously guys,do take note =/

Take care and God bless!
