Easter story
I was heading to my room after coming back from a lunch meeting when I heard a fluttering noise in the washing area at back of my house. A sparrow apparently got itself trapped and keeps knocking itself on a clear transparent window;probably thinking that was its obvious route to escape.
My initial plan was to simply open the back door and let it out.Sounds simple right? Unfortunately the lock was rusty and wouldn't budge from being unlocked even after several tries.Seeing me there, the bird was even more frightened and keeps crashing himself literally onto the window.
Next plan,I opened the entrance door and tried to divert the bird to flew past the door and out to the living hall which then leads to the outside. Not much of a success too, as the bird only keeps its focus to escape from the transparent window. To this point, I tried again to unlock the back door and after several attempts, the door was opened and the bird flew out to its freedom. No casualty in this story!Yay :)
Pondering back to this little event,I would like to share a little of what had been spoken to my heart...
Firstly,I could be like that bird where I find myself trapped in a sticky situation or crisis. My instinct (especially in panic mode)is look out for the easiest way out. It makes me ponder if I really do trust in His goodness and wisdom...Or would I just react like the bird which keeps hurting itself in its own escape attempt? And is my spirit man in tune enough to the Shepherd's voice to the point that I can confidently follow His leading out of the mess? Something to ponder about indeed.
And the best lesson I had learned from this is the assurance of His love for me!
Just as I had sincerely wanted to free this bird,I was reminded of how much more we are worth in our Father's eye and his desire to give is freedom in our lives!
And even if we had failed to see His plans, his arms are never too short to save and He will provide another way of escape for us!
This gift called grace is something I will never deserve and yet I can freely received it because of His love. And after all, He had given up His own life for our salvation! Thank you Jesus! :)
Wishing everyone a memorable Easter weekend!
